Wirksworth Hidden Gardens and Courtyards

12.00 noon to 5.00pm

This fascinating and ancient town has a wide variety of intriguing courtyards and gardens that are often hidden from view but which offer glimpses of delight as you wander around the streets and alleyways.

The weekend gives a unique opportunity for visitors to look behind the walls and enjoy our private spaces where every size and type of garden and courtyard is to be found.

Visitors follow a trail around 20 gardens in the town centre of Wirksworth, with home made cakes and teas en-route. Several of our open gardens will have live acoustic music.

All proceeds from the event are donated to charities especially linked to Wirksworth Town, Independance, Wirksworth Young Cricketers, the Swimming Pool, and other organisations linked to the youth of the town.

Plant sales:
Plant sales will be taking place at Greengates and Orchard House, gardens on the event trail.

Cost:
£4.00 for adults which cover both days, concessions £3.00, under 16's free.

How to get event passports:
Tickets will be sold at the Community Gardens by the railway, Wirksworth Care Centre (town centre) and two garden venues, Orchard House and Greengates at the start and end of trail.
